ABOUT

My interest in vintage Ford automobiles began in 1958 when I purchased a 1934 Ford Roadster. It didn’t have a motor and some other necessary parts, but otherwise it was nearly a complete Ford. I had negotiated with the owner, an older gentleman, for nearly an hour over the $35.00 price he was asking, and I feared I would walk away without the car. However, we did finally settle on a price of $30 if he would include a second unblemished original ‘34 grill that I had noticed hanging on the back wall of his barn. I’ll never forget my father’s comment when I towed the chassis into the yard. “For gracious sakes Edward, what in the world are you going to do with that thing?”  After several visits to the local salvage yard, the purchase of a Buick Nailhead motor, and a number of other compatible salvage yard parts, the Roadster was on the road once again.  I was young but had a vision of turning that simple old Ford into a drivable car. I, like many young people before me, was able to make the Roadster into something wonderful and never looked back.  Incidentally, each time I was about to sell one of my Fords outfitted with the original grill from the farmer’s barn, I removed it and replaced it with another. That original grill has grown another “new” Ford behind it time and time again.

That first car ignited a passion that I have held ever since. I obviously never grew up entirely and have maintained a boyish attitude about each of these wonderful old Fords and the American Dream so many of us cherish. I have been fortunate to be able to continue my passion for Henry Ford’s incredible historic vehicles for sixty years. It is now my wish to pass along this fine collection to someone who will cherish and enjoy it as much as I have.
